常碰到的問題就是: 很多字詞在中文裡可能有兩種以上的意思
但在英文裡其實都不一樣
或是在中文裡用一樣詞彙表達的東西
在英文裡也是一樣的
中文裡的"上網"其實有兩種意思
第一種是指: 連上網路 connect to the Internet 或 have access to the Internet
比如: 你在家能上網嗎?
Can you connect to the Internet from home?
= Do you have access to the Internet at home?
= Do you have an Internet connection at home?
或: 這裡的電腦不能上網
We / You can't connect to the Internet on / from this computer.
但中文裡有時候說"上網"指的是在網路上閒逛: surf the Internet
比如: 我昨晚熬夜上網
I stayed up to surf the Internet last night.
你每天通常上網多久?
How long do you usually surf the Internet every day?
在網路上購物, 則是: go online shopping 或 shop online (動詞用法), online shopping (名詞用法)
例: 網路購物很方便
Online shopping / Shopping online is convenient.
我常用網路購物方式買雜貨
I often shop online for groceries.
所以下次要說"上網"時, 先想想是哪一種哦!
