英文裡其實每種動物的公、母和小孩都有不同的名稱
我們知道「天鵝」的英文叫 swan [swɑn]
但很少有人知道公的天鵝叫 cob，而母的叫 pen (沒錯就是「筆」那個字)
至於幼小的天鵝要叫一個奇怪的字：cygnet [ˋsɪgnət]
(也可以叫 swanling )
這是我看 animal planet 學到的
雖然不是常用的英文，覺得很好玩所以來和大家分享一下
注意在用的時候，必須讓人家先知道你是在說天鵝
不然人家也會突然「霧煞煞」
