大家都知道英文裡一些基本形容詞像 ”冷”, “熱”, “餓”...... 等怎麼說
但是各位知道如果要誇大地表示 ”冷死了”, “熱死了”, “餓死了”...... 等, 要在它們前面加什麼字呢?
freezing + cold = freezing cold 就是 ”冷死了” (冷得快結冰了)
burning hot / melting hot / scorching hot 就是 ”熱死了” (熱得像燃燒/融化/燒焦)
soaking + wet = soaking wet 就是 ”濕透了” (濕得像被浸泡)
也可以用 drenched 這個字
另外, 用 starving 或 starved 取代 hungry 也是一種誇飾, 意思就是 ”餓死了”
更嚴重的說法是 famished
用 parched 取代 thirsty 就是 ”渴死了”
用 exhausted 取代 tired 就是 ”累死了”
也有一個說法是 dog tired—“累得像狗一樣”
