”換零錢” 的動詞用的是 break 這個字
比如你在美國, 要把一張 20 元的鈔票換成 5 元的
就可以跟店員或銀行說: Could you break this into fives? (fives 也可用 five-dollar bills 來取代, 但一般口語都會直接說 fives)
要把一張一百元的鈔票換成 10 張 10 元時
就說: Could you break this into tens?
如果要把一百元換成兩張二十元和六張十元
就是: Could you break this into two twenties and six tens?
要換零錢, 更簡單的說法是: Could I get some change for this?
但對方可能會問你: How would you like it?
那就要再告訴他你想怎麼個換法了
如果人家沒問, 你也沒特別指明的話, 當然就只好隨對方高興囉~
注意 change 這個字當 ”零錢” 時是不可數名詞
所以不能加 s , 前面也不能用 a
要講很多時就用 a lot of change (much 多半用在否定和疑問句)
”一堆零錢” 可說是 loose change
”我沒有足夠的零錢”: I don’t have enough change.
