西式早餐中的 ”薯餅”, 英文叫 hash brown(s)
hash 這個字本來是 ”把...切碎” 的意思
薯餅的做法就是把馬鈴薯切碎後再煎成褐色
它本來叫 hashed brown(s)
經過時間的演變後變成現在的 hash brown(s), 是可數名詞
英國人有時也會在裡面加一些碎肉或剩菜一起煎
tater 也就是 potato 的另一種說法
而 tot 這個字的意思類似我們中文說的 ”小不點兒”
指小孩或小小的東西
tater tot(s) 這個名稱是研發出薯球這種產品的公司給它取的名字
後來雖然別家食品公司也有做, 但都把這種東西稱為 tater tots
字面上的意思就是 ”馬鈴薯小不點兒”
是不是很可愛呢?

但因為馬鈴薯是 ”被壓碎”, 所以記得要在 mash 後加上代表被動的 ed 哦~

iced 才是形容詞, 指 ”冰的” )
