首先, ”端午節” 的英文是 the Dragon Boat Festival (不會唸的同學去奇摩字典查一下哦)
字面上就是 ”龍舟節” 的意思
如果老外問你: When is the Dragon Boat Festival?
注意不可以說是 May 5 (唸 fifth) 哦!
因為端午節的日期是根據農曆, 並非是西曆裡面固定的五月五號
所以正確的說法是: It’s (on) the fifth of the fifth lunar month.
(它是在第五個農曆月份的五號)
”龍舟賽” 則是 dragon boat race(s) 在 ”各種比賽的英文說法” 那篇裡有提過
比速度的競賽就要用 race 這個字
再來當然就是 ”粽子” (音譯 zong zi)
它可以說是 sticky rice dumpling(s)
而 dumpling 可以是任何米或麵皮包餡的食物, 所以像餃子或湯圓也是
而 ”糯米做的, 有包餡的食物” 當然也包括像肉圓這樣的東西
所以要再講清楚一點的話
