其實大家平常只要多觀察一下英文裡是怎麼用 have got, has got 的
應該就不難推敲出它是 ”有” 的意思, 也就等於 have, has
是美式英文的口語用法, 十分常見
比如: I’ve got ten dollars. = I have ten dollars.
He’s got a new girlfriend. = He has a new girlfriend.
Have you got a minute? = Do you have a minute?
既然 have got = have
所以 ”必須...” 的片語 have to V 也就等於 have got to V
比如: I have to go. = I’ve got to go.
He has to stop doing this. = He’s got to stop doing this.
之前我教過大家 gotta = got to
因此以上兩句也可以說 I’ve gotta go. / He’s gotta stop doing this.
講話講太快時常會省略掉一些字
所以本來應該是 I’ve got to go. / I’ve gotta go.
有時就會變成 I got to go. / I gotta go.
雖然在文法上是不正確的, 口語上卻可以接受和使用
另外要注意的是, get 的過去分詞, 在美式英文裡是 gotten, 英式英文裡則是 got
比如在美式英文裡要說: I have gotten a letter from him.
而不是 I have got a letter from him. (除非你一向都是用英式英文. 自己要統一)
但在上述的 ”有”, “必須” 的口語用法裡
則還是要用 got
像 You’ve got to tell him the truth. 裡, 其實 got 是當過去分詞用
不過記得在美式英文裡, 只有表達 ”有”, “必須” 時
才用 got 當作 get 的過去分詞
其他時候 get 的過去分詞仍要用 gotten
