A penny for your thoughts? 字面上的意思是「(我可以)用一分錢來買你的思想(嗎)？」
其實就是在問What are you thinking about? (你在想什麼？)
當發現一個人若有所思，想知道他/她在想什麼時就可以用這句來問
要注意因為它其實是個問句，所以在說時句尾要用上揚的問句語調
比如：
