sectional sofa 是哪種沙發呢？
sectional [ˋsɛkʃən!] 這個字原本是形容詞「部份的」的意思
sectional sofa 就是「組合式沙發」，也就是我們稱為L型沙發的傢俱
因為要做成L型必須要有組裝的轉角
後來演變成也可以只用 sectional 這個字當作名詞來指這種沙發
一般兩件式的叫 two-piece sectional sofa (只有一個轉角的L型沙發)
也有少數是屬於 three-piece 的
但所謂 three-piece sectional sofa 並不是呈ㄇ字型
而是在L型的轉角處多了一個連接轉角的沙發位子
讓轉角看起來比較圓滑而不是直角
至於它的轉角在哪一邊，是以你面對沙發的角度來看
比方說如果你面對沙發時，它的組合轉角在右邊就叫 right sectional sofa
