finally 和 eventually 這兩個字常被譯為 ”最後”
以致很多人不太清楚其實兩者不一樣, 不能通用
finally 的 ”最後” 是經過一個等候的過程, 最後 ”終於” 發生了某事
所以等了很久或期待很久才發生的事, 才能說 finally
是個帶著抱怨拖太久的口氣的字
比如: The food finally arrived at our table after an hour.
The package finally got here this morning.
另外也可以用在表達做事情的順序
比如講到最後一點或最後一個步驟, 也可用 finally
像是: Finally, let’s talk about quality control.
eventually 的 ”最後” 指的則是事情進展到最後的狀況, 但沒有抱怨的意味
比如: The food eventually arrived, but it was cold.
