字面上的意思就是說 ”最好的情況也就只有這樣了”, 不可能再更好了
在片中, 女主角說了一句: What if this is as good as it gets?
(要是這已經是最好的狀況了怎麼辦?)
這部片子的女主角是位在餐廳當服務生的單親媽媽
偏偏她兒子又體弱多病, 讓她在種種壓力下喘不過 氣來
沒辦法給兒子最好的醫療照顧, 也沒辦法追求屬於自己的幸福

意思是萬一此人就是她能找到的最好的對象了呢? 到底該不該接受他?
我們可以來造些句:

我們也可以把 good 換成 bad
as bad as it gets 就是說最壞的情況就是這樣了, 不可能再更壞了
比如: Don’t worry. This is as bad as it gets. It won’t get any worse than this.
The food tonight is as bad as it gets.
